More about Splott

Splott was originally owned by the Bishop of Llandaff.

Famous for its name, (apparently a curruption of "God's plot"), one of Splott's famous citizens is Shirley Bassey, who went to Moorland Road School.

In 1905, around the time of the Wright brothers, another Splott man, Ernest Willows was pioneering airship flights. A school is named after him (along with a pub in Roath).
